Title: Purple Turpin

I found a piece of Purple Poplar a while back and sent it down to South Carolina.  This is what I got in the mail yesterday.
Redheart over Poplar with Redheart and Purpleheart inlays.

I couldn't see the purple in the call until I got home (lighting at work stunk) but that is absolutely amazing!!!!

I've never seen that before and what a beautiful Turpin!

Great call and Whitt did a great job!

The original board was a much darker grayish purple, with one end being very dark. It looks like it wasn't as dark inside. I had envisioned the finished call being darker but it wasn't in the wood. When you hold it you can see the purple. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Some stays purple, most turns brown that I have seen. I am drying 3 more blocks, so maybe I'll get another purple poplar box call from another one of you.
