Guys, I am looking for a bandsaw but I don't want to spend a lot of money on one. I know "you get what you pay for" but I don't have a lot to put in one. I will not be cutting up huge logs on it or anything like that, just blanks. Any suggestions or experiences you guys have had would be greatly appreciated.
AND MIKE, YOU STAY OUT OF THIS ONE...THIS IS A SERIOUS QUESTION! ROTFLMBO

I personally believe the models at Grizzly are a very good value and are next to impossible to beat for the money!

I have a 12" Craftsman that is holding up well and cuts anything I can put on it. The Grizzly would probably hold up better in the long run though.

If your looking for a good un that is reasonable, try General International. I saw a new one on the weekend for 700

I picked up a Ridgid 14inch off Craigs list for 200.00 It does just fine for blanks. Wanted something better but my pockets were to shallow.

I have the Grizzly Ultimate 550GS 14" bandsaw and have not had an issue with it in the four years I have had it. The bearings hold up well. Reconsidering, I do have one problem with it. The rail for the fence sits higher than the table bed, need to call them about that, just keep forgetting. Plus, it isnt that big of an issue or I would have called them much sooner

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback.

Hey Daryl check out the Shop Fox W1706 14in Band saw . I looked long and hard at all the (New)band saws and ended up with one , Keep an eye on CL for a used bargain. Restore a old USA America made unit if you got the time and can buy it right.

Since Daryl is probably tucked quietly away... I just have this to say... you have to do some work to actually need a bandsaw.... The dust it collects, would not be from wood but from not being used... ROTFLMBO
I'm just trying to figure out why you didn't want Mike M to comment *peep* ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO
