Well, I'm trying to get back in the saddle after a great mission trip to Honduras last week. I spent four full days teaching 13 boys and 13 girls basic woodturning skills. The boys each turned a thumb top and the girls each turned a Christmas tree. They were a great group of kids, well behaved and eager to learn. This took place at the Good Shepherd Childrens Academy east of Tegucigalpa. The school is associated with the Good Shepherd Children's Home, both of which are a part of Baptist Medical & Dental Missions International. You can see a glimpse of my experience here:

The young lady at the beginning of the video was my interpreter.
Bruce Johnson, webmaster for BMDMI, provided the video from photos taken during the training. His wife, Laurie Johnson, is the director of the school. They were also my very gracious hosts for the week.
The other 47 members of the team that I went with provided medical and dental care to over 2400 Hondurans in the village of San Miguelleto in a three day period. They also provided eyeglasses, shoes, dolls and clothes, and a veterinarian team provided care for over 300 livestock animals.
In the process 251 souls were saved. I am sincerely thankful for the opportunity to serve.
