Title: Rounding Edges of Box Call Toneboards

I am wondering whether conventional wisdom is to round the edges of the sound boards on box calls on one side or both (or either).  I'm far from expert in the area of tuning and what effects rounding with sand paper has on sound.

Thanks for any advice.

Most calls I own are rounded on both sound boards or at leastbeveled slightly.  Bought all I can tell yah.

My sound boards vary slightly from front to back.  I tend to round them toward the front of the call (seems to help with the kee-kee due to the angle that the paddle is hitting the sound board), and leave them a little flatter toward the back of the call.  That is not always the case, but I can usually get a wider range of tone by doing so.  Just don't round them so much that it becomes a sharp point.   It will turn a yelp into a dry heave.

I start out by rounding them over slightly.  Just enough to knock the sharp edge off.  Sometimes you will need to do a little more.
