Title: Frustration Plus !!

I have had this piece of walnut for a little while and it is a BEAUTIFUL piece of wood...the pictures don't do it justice...BUT IT JUST DOESN'T WANT TO BE A TURKEY CALLER.. I'VE DONE JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING I KNOW TO GET IT TO SOUND RIGHT...BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK  *cry*...I"M GETTING READY TO PAINT A TURKEY HEAD ON IT AND USE IT FOR TARGET PRACTICE

That is a beautiful piece of wood Charlie. I have a pile of longboxes I'm saving for a bonfire one day, LOL ! It seems like you spend way more time trying to make a bad hunk of wood work, than we do on a good piece that transforms itself into a caller. Very frustrating ! Keep up the good work !

That is too pretty wood, I'd just set it aside and maybe one day something will work with it! *up*

Charlie---I with Superstrutter on this one---its way too pretty to trash. Set it aside and one day you will drop ona paddle on it and ---SHA-ZAM !!!!
I had a burl walnut piece I banged my head on for months--it was great looking wood and I set it aside for 8 months or so. Then one day I had hold of a sap walnut lid I had made and screwed it on and dang if it didn't flat come alive.
Keep the faith---it will happen !!!

Man that is some nice Walnut...  Best of luck on getting it working right :)  I'd sure hate to pitch that one!

Put some osage on it and send it to Porter! *peep* Or,,,try some gabon ebony and send it to me,lol *dance*
