I'll be be the devils advocate. Why in Heavens name would anyone just shoot one of those majestic animals for sport! If it was a threat of course. Otherwise leave the alone. You can't eat them. A Trophy? Sad

With out knowing the details I can't pass judgment. They are a beautiful animal without question. There are alot of animals that are hunted and not eaten, Grizzly, Wolf, Coyote, to name a few. Some animals require the use of dogs to take. Some like it some don't. I know here in Ca we can't even pass wind near a mountain lion. And as a result our deer herds are paying the price. The tree huggers got them protected and now we have way to many running around. If I was to go to another state and take one I can't even bring the hide home. :-[ Spot and stalk a cougar......... ROTFLMBO. Bait them? Hounds are used for Turkeys, Bear, Pigs, Rabbits, Coons, the list goes on. So why not Lions? Two years ago I had one follow me down a hill all the way to the road. I was *poo*ing my pants. Hunting is one of the ways to keep populations in check, so is there a better way than hunting? Those guys should have walked away from the shaft and found another way or day to harvest that lion. Just my opinion.

Dave, I am mostly in agreement. Once the Lion was in the cave they should have walked. Then wounding the animal with hand guns was inhumane. I have hunted many animals but not like that!

Videos like that never tell the whole story. If the lion just went in the cave they should have walked away. If it was wounded before it went in they have a responsibility to finish it off. Was the guy a horrible shot? Maybe so, but we all know what happens when the blood gets pumping. Shooting a handgun at a pissed off maybe wounded lion while your heart is beating in your throat could make your aim a wee bit off.

it would take drugs, lots and lots of drugs for me to go into a cave with a lion like that in there. Only wood go in there with a 3" load of TSS #7's out of my shotgun. *poo*
