Mike asked me to make him a 3" aluminum call in (you guessed it) osage. Good talking to you Mike, kill a biggun with it!

Ed played that call and one made out of hickory for me a few minutes ago..Boys these call rock.He makes them sing.. I just ordered me a hickory. Mike, osage ain't my thing ROTFLMBO. All kinding aside....What a beautiful call. *bannana*

Guys I have to tell a story. I've been contacting and in touch with several callmakers on this site. I figured, since I was running a forum, I need to add to my collections. Best way to do that is help the callmakers here. Ed was the first one I contacted. I'm on a budget like many of you, so I figured I'd get something different from each callmaker I am buying from. I had my mind completely made up of one of Ed's 3.5" Slate calls. They sounded really good. Then I hear him say, hey I have something in my vest I want to play for you... he said it's a 3" Aluminum. (ok Ed I'm going to be honest here) I'm thinking.. not an aluminum call I'm not real fond of them.. Man the minute Ed hit the striker on the Aluminum my ears perked up!!! Off I went on knowing that was the call I wanted. I asked him to build me one in Osage (that was not a surprise to him). He called me the other night and said he had made one with his new design and didn't like it. He played it for me and I thought it sounded really good. Then he played the hickory 3" against it and I knew the hickory was slightly better.
Well he called again today and man oh man am I ever tickled to death with that call!! It's slightly higher pitched than the hickory one, but I'm not going to complain since I like a higher pitched call:)
I am so excited to get this call in my hands! I have a bad/good feeling this call will always be with me. I've never loved the sound of Aluminum so much in my life. Ed has one mean/nasty break to his pot calls!!!
I heard the call way before I saw it and now I realize not only will it sound good, it looks good too!!!

Well after being out of town and knowing my call was at home, I finally got to play it last night.
I will admit, I've never been a big fan of aluminum, until now. Wow is all I can say. It's packed and ready to head out with me this morning!
Ed thanks for building this call and thanks for doing a great job. I wanted Osage and he definitely delivered on that too.
I'm going to have to order one in hickory too as that wood combo breaks even harder than my osage. I like a higher sounding call and that's what I got with Osage. He made sure I was fine with the sound before he shipped it. I don't think I could pry his hickory one out of his hands though!!! ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO Guess I should have asked!

Mike- I know how you feel, I felt the same way when I talked to Ed & got my first call off of him.Felt kinda silly for waiting as long as I did.
I have never been a fan of Aluminum calls either, till' I got my hands on a Ghostmaker. They are top notch, and in a league of their own,imo. I've been using them for a few years now, and they are the only calls that go in the vest. Pure hen!! The only one Im missing is a wingbone, and a glass....You listening Ed? :D
