Title: Gettin in Deap
Post by: creekrocket on April 06, 2010, 10:34:10 AM: This place is extemely hard to get to, but once you're in...you're in. Its the perfect habitat for these birds we chase. You cant get in without breaking and snapping 1800 sticks and twigs, and they know it.

Thats exactly what it is Mr.Parrish. There is sign in here that dates back well over a hundred years. Its really interesting stumbling on places like this. Hope they are around much longer.

You have no idea man! Ive spent a week in the Colombian Amazon Jungle before, and that didnt compare to where I hunt. Maybe thats why the swamp chickens live there. To answer your question 69, I think they live in there for quite a few reasons. Where I was, there are small little pine flats that they roost on. There is enough food and room to move around on for them live off of. Its away from all human presence, so I'm sure that has alot to do with it too. Ive seen these birds walking through water that would be almost knee high for you and I. Kinda makes you wonder. I love hunting in habitat like this. I know, that the average Joe want go in there. Ole' Mudpuppi hunts in the same area....he can tell ya that this is the place to be to catch these birds slippin'.

I just can't see myself sitting down against a tree in that area LMBO, there has to be a lot of snakes, lizzards......heck, there might even be unknown species in there!!! The only thing we have to worry about is Rattlers....well..maybe a black bear sighting but just Rattlers I guess. You guys are more than welcome to come up here and hunt with me, but I ain't going in there lol, Good Hunting
