Title: Just Makes Me Mad
Post by: SurroundedByOutlaws on March 20, 2010, 08:06:17 AM
Get in the woods well before daylight, get set up, hit the ol crow call and wow there he is sounding off like he owns the woods. Knowing your in the right spot and low and behold ten minutes later between you and him coyotes, and they been barking and howling for thirty minutes now. Well looks like a coyote hunt instead of evening turkey hunt!!! Just sux! But that's turkey hunting.

I've had one sneak in once.  Couldn't figure out why they just shutup... and then there was ol yote!

Mine flew up in a tree.  I watched him for hours strut on a branch.  Not sure what time of the day he came down.

At least you did get out and enjoy the day!

 ROTFLMBO

I've had MANY coyote encounters over the years.  One time me and trapperscott were on a fall hunt.  Had about 50 turkeys in a wheat field and watched 2 coyotes come in on 'em.  The whole flock just chested up and did the mean walk right at the dogs... the dogs backed down and left!!  Wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.  If I remember right we even video'ed it...

Later,
Steve

That would have been a site to see.  I bet those yotes didn't know what to think...  this isn't normal behavior ... let's get out of here those are some mean birds  ROTFLMBO

If you did video that, that would be priceless!

Coyote season should be year around! They are a nuisance animal that will prey on anything. If they come near my barn or me while turkey hunting they are getting shot! RkLu

It isn't?  ::) :-X ;D

A few years back while fall turkey hunting I called in three different yotes in a 45 minute span.  They all took dirt naps.
Needless to say I didn't see any turkeys that morning.  >!!

I've had the same thing happen on two occasions.  Both were a group of jakes who chase the coyote away!

Here is a pic of one I called in last year with a yelper.
