Pappy was up to his old self playing in his shop when I got there this morning a little after 9:00AM. He showed me a couple of his new resin pots. I was really impressed with them. Both pots sounded great. The glass over aluminum sounded superb. One of the best pots I have heard. I know I say that on occasion, but not too often. When you hear a pot that sounds that good, you just got to tell people about it. Those resin pots are truly unigue. He has I don't know how many colors in them. What impressed me the most about the call was the way that it feels in your hand. I told Jack he needs to patent this call. It blew me away. The other one was glass over slate, and it was what I told Jack the perfect tree call early morning type stuff. Both pots looked really awesome.
Anyway I came away with this baby. Thanks Jack!
Glass over copper spalted maple pot
This call is lower in tone than my other calls.

It sounds like an old hen to me. Sort of like an old box call. This is with a zebrawood striker.

Thanks Richard.
That thing sounds awesome.
Here's some of the pots I played today. That blue resin pot is a killer!
I wished I could of took it home with me.
That red resin pot is one of the best early morning calls I have heard for tree calls. It sounded ever so good!

Pappy's work is amazing. I was very fortunate to get one of his early yelpers.
I (wouldn't you know) have one of the most beautiful Osage pots from him!!!
I had not seen his Resin pots... those are sweet!!!

Porter,
I can't tell you how good they sound.
I'm telling you that blue pot is pure turkey. I'll put that pot with any pot I have heard for sounding authentic as heck. *gobble*

Jack actually mixes different color pigments and adds the hardener to the resin and pours the mixture into a round mold. Then he turns the pot on a lathe.

I've not seen anything yet that Pappy couldn't do when he puts his mind to it!!! I have a yelper, Osage Pot in slate and a duck call in Osage... they all look fantastic!
