how kome most of the krow kall makerz use the store bought mouth piecez....why not make yer own... ???

i'd imagine due to time and tuning. i prefer hand made, but i imagine people can turn out more calls buying plastic mouthpieces.

i really like the look of gregg's calls. i have a call from jack mincey, but i'd like to pick up another, most likely from gregg. buckner makes a fantastic crow call as well, that has a wooden mouthpiece.

preciate that man, I have some ideas on how to do it consistently, just have to get time to get started! *aah* Man them turpins you been making are super fine, may have to talk to you about purchasing one from you pretty soon.

P.S.- I agree with SilentK, I hate a custom call with a cheap plastic mouth piece. Takes away from th calls appeal for me. Plus I don't like the feel of plastic on a crow call.

Those were by far the hardest calls I have ever built. Trying to duplicate the sound by hand, drove me NUTS.... If I were to do any more, I would have a jig made from the design of one of the first I did.

KP am I going to have to ban you? You gotta give me some warning before posting those beautiful Osage calls! You might as well add a crow call just like that one on my order too!

Like I said before, i'm gonna try and make my own this summer. That's why I started making my own sound boards in the owl hooters, I wanted to set myself apart from the rest, sofar i've only made two with wooden sound boards and they were both sent to Nashville. I've got them sounding good, but I think I still have some work to do on them, I have to get them sounding a little deeper and not quite as raspy, maybe a little more user friendly, where it don't take quite as much air to blow.
