I built my first trumpet out of wood. It turned out great and sounds just as good as the Delrin ones. The wood is Ziricote with an oil finish and the mouthpiece is buffalo horn. The picture ain't the greatest, but I think y'all can get the idea. Man, turning wood makes a MESS! I won't be doing many wood ones, but I'll build a few.

Thanks, y'all. The pic makes it look a little "grainy", but it's really not. I had not buffed or engraved it when I took the pic.

Nice looking call and I like the finish! Much better than polys or lacquers, they just don't work well,,The Ziricote look a lot like some Texas Ebony I turned, beautiful figure!
