I went around to a few shops today trying to find a load for Grandpa's old Iver Johnson. I couldn't find the Win XX 2 3/4" load....but I did find a stash of these. I think they are the old pre -flight control Feds. The guy has 6 or 7 more boxes. They were stuck over in a corner covered in dust. Are these good lead shells ?

Those should definitely get it done!

Never used 2 3/4 but used the 3" for years and they work great.

Actually, I believe they are copper coated lead.....but they are great loads for fixed choke guns. You might also look around for the Active 2 3/4" shells (been out of production for some time now). The company is now known as Kent and if you can't find the Active, try the Kent 2 3/4" shells.

Bill I've been going crazy trying to remember Activ. All plastic Hull and laid some devastating patterns.

Yep.........Active was made just up the road from me. I even have a couple of the prototype shells. They were clear see thru plastic that required an over shot wad. Still have afew boxes of the final production shells. Active used chrome plated shot and it really made for great patterns!
