Last year was a great season for me . I hunted two states ( Ohio and Kentucky ) and harvested four longbeards. My Kentucky birds were twins, both weighed 26 lbs. and had ten inch beards, with one inch spurs. both were three year ols toms. My Ohio birds weighed 21lbs. and 23 lbs. Both had ten inch beards and spurs slightly longer than one inch. I got two banded toms here in Ohio and one carried a one hundred dollar reward from Penn State. The University has been conducting a study of turkeys biological and travel data.
That adds up to 94 lbs. of turkey for one season.
How was your season? Tell us your stats. for the year.

Four Gobblers from two states for me. First were two fine Osceolas from Florida, one made the states Outstanding Gobbler registry with a 11+ beard and spurs measuring over an 1.25" on both sides. I also picked up two Merriams from South Dakota.

i thought this was an interesting post. i had a good year. two birds back to back in virginia. one 1 1/2" spurs and one 1 3/8" spurs. then i took people in ohio and killed ten birds here. the last week of the season i got to hunt new york and killed two birds back to back again. one with 1 3/8" spurs and one with 1" spurs. then this fall i was able to be part of harvesting 25 birds. many of the fall hunts are with others who are more capable than myself so i do not take credit for all of these birds but to be involved in harvesting 39 birds in one year made it a great year. my goal has always been 50 birds but i think now my age is going to work against me and i will most likely never see this goal achieved. i guess i'll just enjoy the ones i do get more. sooner

Wow ! That is impressive . I really enjoy being in on other peoples successful hunts too. I sometimes would rather be there getting it all on video, while someone else shoots a turkey. I've never been party to that many birds in a year , maybe a dozen or so each spring. Sounds like you are having a great time of it in the spring and fall. Congratulations on a great year chasing them 'ol long neckers !
