OK guys here's the deal. My Grandpa willed me his old Iver Johnson Champion single shot 12ga (fixed full choke). I'm thinking about putting some 2 3/4" turkey loads through it and maybe taking a bird with it this year. I realize it's probably gonna be a 30 yard and under gun...but what loads do think will be the most effecient at 30 yards ?
Thanks,
Tim

I don't think you could go wrong with Winchester Double X loads. I had good luck with them in 4's through an old Winchester pump. I had no problem killing turkeys at 30 yards with those loads.

Another vote for the double X loads

At 30 yds. Super X would be fine.

OK...I'll try the XX first *up*

Another vote for the XX Win. loads . But, I'd be surprised if that ol' gun doesn't pattern sufficient at 30 yards with a one ounce target load , for turkey . Be a lot more of a pleasure to shoot ,,,,,,,,,,,,,
