...or at least for me. I have never made a call from this wood. I have never seen another call made from this wood but with 1000's of calls out there its hard to believe it hasn't been tried before. Figured maple over PAWPAW WOOD! The call shown has the lid just laying on the box. The call has been finished, tuned and sent to a new home! I was pleasantly surprised the tonal qualities were similar to poplar. Pics not showing up but if you click the link it should open. Can zoom in or whatever.

LT's calls. We need to work on the links to post pictures. Something isn't right.

Man that is nice, very sharp looking call
the paw paw looks like a cross between mineral stained poplar and sycamore

I tried to get some paw paw wood a year or so ago, but it wasn't big enough for a call. That is awesome.

One of the sharpest looking calls I have seen in years. Paw Paw....you may be on to something. 8)

L.T.there is a chapter in East of the Slash called “The Hant of Paw Paw Ridge”. I have killed some memorable birds on that ridge. The paw paw trees always seemed too small for a call. I congratulate you on that call! It’s a beauty. Mr. E

Thanks for the comments! The call turned out and tuned pretty nice. A new wood is always interesting. I have a few more large "in the rounds". Hoping they are as nice when I get around to breaking them down.
