Title: Who carries a tube call?
Post by: West Augusta on September 03, 2020, 09:21:23 PM
I really want to learn this call but would be better off carrying it for goose hunting.  I make a fairly good Canadian goose honk with one.   *lol*

Back in the 80's Knight and Hale sold a tube call for goose hunting, I think it was called the double cluck.
with some practice you could get a decent double cluck out of it

A tube call is what I like to use for making a gobble call,  I always have one with me spring and fall

I carry one mostly in the fall for Jake gobbles. I have used them in the spring occasionally with some limited success. I wish I was better using it.

Heard Harold Knight run his 20 years ago, that was an incredible sounding tube call. Listening to Cuz run his to strike birds on video, that's some awesome volume he cranks out of it.

Wish I could help you out here, its the one call I haven't spent time with yet.

Here are the ones I have. Left to right. Knight & Hale 2 piece tube call. Primos, a tube call that was gifted to me by a friend that someone made and the last one is from Matt McLain

This is a call I want to master... but sometimes I sound decent.. sometimes I feel like someone has a boot on my neck and I'm struggling...

I need to get one from McClain!

I’ve been running one from TTP game calls, ABW with a brass lip rest. I can see great potential in it, if I’d dedicate the time to learn it. I also have a Blackwood from Bill Baublett. I need to get down to business with them.
