It's been in the family for generations. It's Old Nitro Hunter sold in hardware stores in the early 20th Century. This one was given to my Grandfather by his father and then to my uncle then to my dad then to me. It has the Belgian stamp . It is a 12 Ga. 34 inch barrel full choke 3 inch chamber. fFrom age 10 to 15 0r so I won a lot of Turkey shoots with this gun. It has killed a lot of Turkey and believe it or not 80 yards is money, although I don't believe I ever took one past 50 or so. It will reach out and flat stomp um. This is the first gun I started Turkey hunting with over 40 years ago.

Thanks for looking.
Sometimes simple is just as good.

34 inch barrel... dang that would reach out and knock them out with the barrel :)
My lil 870 would look funny beside that gun. 18.5 " barrel and all ROTFLMBO

As a side note...a couple of years ago my boys wanted me to come watch them pattern their new guns with the new chokes and different loads and I slipped this in the truck and went to Adams. They were pattering at 40 yards and were just elated at the amount of pellets they were putting in the head and neck. I asked Adam to get this gun out of the truck. Took it borrowed one of their shells and proceeded to blow the whole head out of the target at 40 yards. just shreds of paper.

sounds like a keeper.

I'll bet it sets you back a few steps also, as light as it looks..

Probably the heaviest gun I ever owned. But back then it was all I had. It will stay in the family for sentimental reasons. They are not worth a lot on the market. Maybe $175.00- $350.00 depending on the condition.
But it still leaves a bruise on the best of them.

you can't put a price tag on an item like that. glad to hear it will stay in the family.

Mike thats a great piece of history. My Father-in-law had one on the wall in his den, never got to shoot it (I was scared to) Just be careful of modern day ammo. Wouldn't want it to look like it was in a Buggs Bunny cartoon. They were the real deal back in the day .... one shot was all you needed and it made a better hunter out of ya!! *up*

Great gun Mike and even better that it's been in the family so long.

I agree: Really GREAT gun; I wish I had one just like it....to hang on the wall. I think, perhaps, that sentimentality clouds your opinion of its performance in the field, however. No matter.....hold onto that gun; it is an heirloom keepsake!
