Black locust naturally flouresces under black light.  According to LT there are others that glow slightly. Another way to test wood types.

Yep thats pretty cool!  Paduak, sumac, yellowheart and a bunch more if I remember right.  Gonna have to go get a black light for the shop I guess.  Steve, just curious...how DID you end up with a black light in your shop.... :-\  Flashing back to your younger days...... *peep*

I picked up a black Light flashlight for about $7 at Wally world.

I posted the link you sent me under the pictures. I checked my wood supply and nothing glows like Black Locust.

Bill, I thought about that but I and several others have called in enough gobblers with a Black Locust striker that I'm not worried about it anymore.   ROTFLMBO
