Title: Virus Alert from Forums!
Post by: Dragonfly on January 08, 2010, 10:33:18 PM
Guys,
Justed wanted to let you all know my PC crashed today.  When we did a repair/scan we found the virus came from a site called vaturkey.com   Odd thing is we have never been on this vaturkey.com before but somehow thats where it came from.  All I can figure is it came through a link or picture that originated from there.  I am not saying it was intentional, infact I doubt it was, but just be aware if you go to that site or contact links/pictures from there.  This virus shut our whole system down and it took a lot of work to correct.

Being an IT employee I can tell for sure, it's getting amazing what people are doing.

It's always very important to keep your machine updated.  Not only does this include your OS, but your java, your adobe products, your office products, virus scan and always run spyware removal at least once a week.

If anyone ever has any questions, feel free to let me know.  Be more than glad to help you out.

Facebook and myspace are two bad sites to get really infected!

What's a good free spyware remover

Spybot Search and Destroy
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
SuperAntispyware

Those are the 3 major ones I use.  Usually in that order too!  First two will be able to remove probably 98% of all spyware!

We use Kaspersky Security Software... $70 a year but very, very good soft ware and they help yah a lot if and when you have a crash.  Highly suggest them as well.---Jason
