 Ralph Permar was down to my home the past three days turkey hunting. The day he arrived, he surprised me with this beautiful Roanoke style trumpet. I had given him a piece of stabilized Norfolk Pine some time back and this is what he was able to produce. He calls it "Genesis". If you look closely, you can see at the bell end a single cell. Progressing towards the mouth piece, the cell begins to elongate and above that is becomes two cells about to split. The special base for the call is from a piece of Koa that Earl Mickel gave Ralph.
