Title: Just wait 'til next year!

My cousin from Knoxville called a couple of weeks ago to tell me about a strange looking tree she had cut in her yard.  When she sent a picture I recognized it as flamed box elder.  Last week her husband came down to Mississippi and was nice enough to bring me two cuts from that tree.  We went to my friend Jerry's mill the next morning and had them sawed.  They are drying now and I can hardly wait until next year!  They are going to make some really beautiful scratch boxes!

It is one inch.  More than enough for my scratch boxes.  It is stacked inside a building and I will run a fan on it at times.
