I've been reading the Davis book The American Wild Turkey. I had read the chapter on calls and callers and in it Davis had the dimensions for his box and slate call aka scratch box. I had to build one. They are easy enough to build but the tuning is a little tricky and cutting the roofing slate on my band saw really sucked. In the end this call has a great turkey sound to it though learning to play it the way he did took some practice. The Mrs. just loved it. *aah* *lol* Thanx for the look. Thanx for the kind words guys. It always amazes me how long some of these calls have been around and reading how he used it while hunting. It was a fun project and they really do sound good but like I said it is hard to run them the way Davis did at least for me. Andy I have more glued up and cut more slate last night. *up*
