Okay being kinda new to this craft.. I dont have to follow any rules.. its all part of the learning process and success!! .. RIGHT?? Sooo..This is pecan sapwood. It worked alot like a heavy Butternut (I liked it) . Using the pecan heart wood for a lid.. I'm still doing a lil tuning, but i put a finish on it and will go back to it tomorrow... it's almost there.. also tried a pretty and somewhat $ store bought inlay for this one.... why not?

Break the rules more often my friend. That one looks great. Finish stuffing that last turkey in it and you have a long box to be proud of.

Thanks ya'll for your kind words.. It was pretty cool using the pecan sapwood.. It really surprised me when I ran it across my table saw. It's like a lighter colored but more firm butternut. I'll be making more with that stuff!
