As some of you may be aware, or wondered...I have been away from the site for some time now. My family has been facing a very challenging crisis for about 4 months now and to maintain some form of balance and to help keep my family strong, almost all of my time is dedicated to the situation we face. On occasion I do go into the shop and putter and I have woodburned a few calls I had finished right after Nashville. Much of this is is a calming distraction to help me with my own personal struggle as I try to remain the family leader.
Recently, I have been listening to a great song by Darius Rucker called WINGS. I have added the lyrics below. Like many songs, in order to get the full effect you need to listen to it sung by the artist and I would encourage you to do so. This song has greatly inspired me to remain strong and it has given me peace in times of great need. I thought I would share. Many thanks to those friends who reach out...it has meant a great deal.
I will return in time, a time frame, however, that at this point can't be defined.
Why do we hate’ Why do we suffer?
Why do we make our mistakes and constantly blame one another?
Why is there wars…and why is there killing?
Have we forgotten some secret we knew back when we were just children?
Chorus,
If I had wings… I’d fly up to heaven,
I’d look down from the clouds on everything
Then I could find all the things we’ve been missin’
I would have all the answers, if I had wings
Like why am I here and where did I come from?
And where will I go when my time on this earth is done?
And what would I leave that would go on forever?
Oh no…and what can I do while I’m here to make someone’s life better?
Chorus
If I had wings… I’d fly up to heaven
I’d look down from the clouds on everything
Then I could find all the things we’ve been missin’
I would have all the answers, if I had wings
Oh now…if I had wings I would fly up to heaven…chorus slows
I would have all the answers…. if I had wings.
