We are going to have a fundraiser for Rick Harro AKA callman on here at Osage Roost, it will be held on August 22nd in Enola, PA.
Rick is a callmaker from PA and many of you know Rick either through this forum or over on HuntingPA.com. Rick organized the very successful fundraiser for Miranda Miller last year. Miranda is the beautiful little girl that has battled leukemia. Rick also has been instrumental in keeping the PA Boyz breakfast going the last several years.
Now Rick has been diagnosed with a serious medical condition and needs our help. Like he did for Miranda Miller, we are going to do for Rick. We are asking for donations in the form of calls, artwork, or any hunting/fishing related items. We will hold the public auction on August 22nd for people to bid on and 100% of the proceeds go directly to Rick and Deb Harro to help defray the mounting medical bills that insurance will not cover. This auction is being spearheaded by Andy Snair and you can send your items to him. He can be reached at - Andy Snair, PO Box 216, Rockhill Furnace, PA 17249 Cell number 814-517-7728.
We appreciate any and all support you can give to help out a great guy that has done so much for others and now needs support and of course prayers to help him and has wife through a tough time and road ahead. I have seen what this group of call makers and turkey hunters has done in the past for other fundraisers, your a special group of individuals. Hello to all you guys on the Roost ,I like to thank Robert Smith or we all know him as silver spur as to what he has told all of you Rick Harro of Gobbler Getters Calls, has been battling some serious health issues I've only known Rick and his wife Deb for a little over a year and I'm here to say that Rick is one of them very special people that you get the chance to come across maybe once or twice in a life time .when something comes along he's always there to pitch in no matter what it may be ,I have gotten to know some of you here on the Roost and I even had the privilege to speak to some of you at Nationals the repatation and the character of this form is highly respected and I'm so glad to be a part of it ,so I come to ask of you,if your a call maker, an artist ,a craftsmen, or your back yard garage tinkering around kind of person ,the good Lord has given us all a give to help us along the way and he also gave us that gift to help others as well so I'm asking for your help. Let's help one of are own we all know the passion that we have when it comes to making calls well Rick is going through some treatment and he is so exhausted that he's unable to even make calls I my self know's this has to be a difficult time . Hey guys I just got off of the phone with Rick. He wanted to let me know how appreciative he is of everyone's support and donations.
He told me he wanted to donate a call to the event. Only one stipulation, no one is allowed to pay for it.
This call will be drawn at random from the auction numbers. No purchase will be allowed to win this call. Rick wanted it to be a gift for one lucky person at the event, to show how much he appreciates all of the support.

Since I've met Rick, he always seems to be helping someone else. As was said, he and Deb are great folks. Please keep them in your prayers.

I have put together a nice fly/trout fishing package. I have gotten flies from all over the country on this. Should be over 250 flies when it is all said and done. Also got a day pass to fish some private trout water.
I got an OK from the owner of my company to make a custom fire ring as well. I will design it to tell the story of a typ off the roost hunt. Roosted gobbler, gobbler flying down, walking gobbler, strutting gobbler, then a hunter. Should turn out really nice.
Going to do a gift certificate for a sign like I had made for Lee Bowles as well. Will be fully customizable to match your shop, camp or residence.
IF you are planning on attending this auction please bring some sort of dish. Feel free to pm me with what our are bringing. If you don't know exact just say dessert, or side, or something like that.

We are about one month away from the fundraiser and I wanted to say thanks to all that have donated to date. Hope some of you can make it and bring a little money cause there will be some awesome stuff at the auction. It is for a great guy that needs our help. Special thanks to bowmike and Andy Snair for all you guys have done. There is a long list of people to thank but we appreciate the support and generosity of everyone involved. A reminder, next Saturday August 22nd The Fundraiser for Rick Harro AKA The Callman will take place at 600 D Street in Enola. Pa. Lunch will be at noon and the auction will start around 1pm. We have a lot of great custom calls and other fantastic items up for live auction. We appreciate the support from Osage Roost and all that have donated. You are a blessing to our community. I would be remised if I did not give a special thanks to Andy Snair, Lee Bowles and Mike Richardson for the hours of time and hard work they have put into this event for the Harro Family. Hope those that can make the trip travel safely. See you next week in Enola, Pa

I just want to send a shout out to all of the call makers who made and donated a call to help out Rick Harro, his wife Deb and family in their time of need. Also and equally as important I want to send a HUGE shout out to those who came to the auction to bid on the awesome items that were there, without the combination of both groups this event would not have been as successful as it was. It was an awesome day of meeting new people, making new friends and getting to run some of the finest calls made and just an all around incredible day. I know at least from what I saw everyone in attendance had a great time, the weather was perfect and the food for the picnic was awesome with plenty of it. *up* *up* *up*

Thank you to everyone who was a part of the benefit auction and picnic on my behalf. What an enormous success. I know everyone wants to know exactly how well you all did, but we are leaving that honor to Mike Richardson. He will post the amount in a few hours. We have spent the last few hours trying to figure out how to thank everyone. There were so many people doing so many things that made the day a huge success. There are a few really special people we need to recognize - Mike, Andy and Lee were incredible getting this all organized. The donations they were able to attain were above and beyond anything we have ever seen. They worked tirelessly for weeks to get this all together. There are some amazing turkey call makers out there. What craftsmanship and creativity! I know we were all blown away by the calls at this auction.Thank you to the NWTF for their donations and support. A special thanks to Deb and her daughters, Eva, Bobbi Jean and Tracy for running things under the pavilion. They kept everything running smoothly. Bobbi Jean and Tracy got those raffle items in order and organized perfectly.What a team!! We wanted to thank Mark and Cindy for bringing all their grilling equipment and cooking all day. Cindy did a great job of organizing the food table and keeping things running smoothly there. A special thank you to Mark for the fishing trip. Another special thank you to Bobbi Jean for making the quilt, buying the quilt and then presenting the quilt to Deb. Deb said as soon as she saw it she would LOVE to have it. What a wonderful thing to do. Another special thanks to Jeff Wilbur. He purchased Kip Feroce's 3 box call set for an amazing $1500 - WOW! He then turned around and presented that to me. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place. Amazing. We want to thank everyone who donated raffle items and all the bidders. We couldn't have done it without you. We would like to thank Darvin Rogers, the auctioneer, who kept things going. Also thanks to Dallas and Todd and all the other runners who helped with the live auction. Thank you to all those that helped set up and tear down. To those that donated tents, chairs and tables and to all those that donated all the wonderful food ....thank you. It was a huge success and it was all of you - each and every one - that made it happen. One final thank you. Miss Miranda Miller. Because of you, a bunch of turkey hunters got together and became a family. Thank you for my special turkey call and slate turkey picture. Deb's flowers were beautiful and look lovely in the kitchen. Thank you Miranda for bringing us all together. You are all my family and I love you all.
