Lucky he had two pair of heavy mittens on or it would have been bad.

I've handled thousands of them.  Almost all 330's for beaver.  If you handle them the right way, it will never happen.  Had one for an ankle bracelet once for about 3-4 minutes, but that was the only mishap I ever had.  And that one was enough for me. 

A beaver had knocked it over and to the side of where I had set it.  I stepped on it.  Learned to use my rake ahead of my feet after that and never had a problem. 

Luckily, it appears that that trap was a smaller one.  Maybe a 220.  If it had been a 330, he wouldn't have gotten it off with a shoe string.

Well, I was kinda thinking, would it have been better to uncover that thing with a stick............? Reality shows at their finest.
