Title: My Dads go to call

This Lynch Model 102 made in 1958 was my Dads go to call, I witnessed the Dimise of more turkeys than any other call I ever heard or hunted with. I remember many of mornings sitting in front of my dad while he played this call. I know i heard the report of is Ithaca Model 28 many times after hearing this call. He never liked the rubber bands on it. I think I even called A few birds to him with it. I think this call is why i like box calls so much. I'm even thinking about hunting with it this spring, But i would be heartsick if i broke some how.

Nice call with a lot of memories for you. I too have an older Lynch fool proof one sider that I swear is responsible for my obsession with box callers.

  alot of todays turkey hunters do not like box calls,,i do not see what is wrong with them,

A box of memories there. I might try to kill a bird with it but would put it away after that. Good luck!!

I had a 50th anniversary call that I killed a pile of birds with. I sat back on it while it was in the back of my vest. POP! I glued it back up but it sure doesn't sound the same. Your dad's box is a newer Lynch call. Many a bird killed with Lynch calls down thru the years.

Bill, Great story and call, I would hunt it and take a gobbler with it and then consider retiring it.  Lots of great memories in that call.

More than likely made in the seventies, I started hunting in 69

I think your dad probably has another caller somewhere. That is not the box you played as a kid. That is a nineties box. That is a Thomasville box. I'm not sure when Allen Jenkins moved his operation to Thomasville, GA. I'd probably go ahead and hunt with that box. Don't know who owns Lynch now, but it's not Jenkins.

Bill--that little call was one of my deceased hunting buddies go to call also--he nicknamed it "sweet pea"

Thomasville - 1994. From a reliable source.

That call is many folks first. Got mine in 1978 or close to it.
