Just before Johnny Morris purchase the Earl Mickel Turkey Call Collection I was able to negotiate this 1994 Zach Farmer Holly Yelper. I am thrilled to have this piece of history, but it's also a little bitter sweet. I purchased it assuming there was no shot the collection would remain together, but after hearing that Johnny purchased it I couldn't help but feel extremely luck and a bit guilty. There's also a really cool Lon Ricci story with this trumpet. On the flip side I will not be donating it back.

Danny,
It was a pleasure meeting you Friday and showing me the caller and giving me the history.
When did Jonny buy the collection?
They were still selling calls saturday morning.
Thanks,
Dave

Good seeing you again this year Bugsy. Nice addition to your collection. There were a ton of great calls in those cases.
-
Congrats on that great Farmer call! *up*
-
Johnny purchased the collection Saturday afternoon is what I was told. when I stopped in the booth on Sunday morning they wouldn't sell anything.
-
Awesome piece... Congrats!!
-
Nice call Bugsy!
Love the lanyard too!!! *lol*
-
Rob Keck was there later Saturday afternoon when I stopped by. I'll bet that's when the deal went down.
-
Zach's wife made the lanyards for his calls. Glad I went by when I did! Twenty minutes later..........Johnny owned the whole shebang!

I was told that Rob stopped by the booth and saw the feeding frenzy and called Johnny on the spot. I am very thankful to have the call. I actually bought several calls. So thankful I acted because I was really on the fence. Actually, my wife said no initially and then got a massage at the resort. Not sure what happened, but when she returned she started forking out Benjamins. Happy Ending for all!!!LOLOL

It's possible that Keck played a part in the sale. I was told long before the calls went to Nashville that Johnny was looking at it and was going to cherry pick it. Rob had been in and out of the booth, beginning Thursday afternoon. So he was well aware of the activity. Something flipped the lever!
