Title: Tall Timber Gabriels

I got a question for all you seasoned old hunters. What is the scoop behind calling tom turkeys Gabriel's? I have heard them referred to that name more than once and even in the title of the book but was unsure of the story behind it. Thanks!

 An old adage, used to describe the gobbler sounding off. Like Gabriel, blowing his horn.
