I bought a KelTec 380 the other day, and already love it. I was wondering if any of y'all own one, and how you liked it.
-
I know a lot of people that have Kel Tecs and like them, but I was curious how hard 380 ammo is to get now? I know a few friends were having a dang hard time finding any!
Looks like a sharp gun!!!
-
I've heard the same thing about finding ammo. Why do you think that is? Is the 380 fading away?
-
People are afraid of the antigun people outlawing ammo so they are hording all they can find!
-
I have one and it's a great little gun. Probably shot 300 rounds through it. The only problem I have is it is picky on the loads it will shoot without jamming. Whatever you do don't try running any cheap loads through it as it's nothing but a headache. I use it as my concealed carry gun, put it in an Uncle Mikes holster and you can carry it around in a pocket unoticable.
-
They are good guns for the money.

I think that is a major part of it too and I also heard the manufacturers are not cranking out as much. It's also one of the most common concealed carry guns...
-
My wife totes one. I've put a couple hundred rounds through it with no problem. A very accurate, very concealable pistol.

What do you need one of those for??

I thought that till one day a man walked into a neighbors a bit down the road to rob him and killed him (my neighbor)with a sawed off shotgun. You never know where you are safe anymore.
Mike
Oh by the way, I am a Minister but I would defend myself and my family at any cost. It wouldn't be wise to step into my house unless I know you.

National Health care does that much huh. :)
You never know when some peckerhead is going to come after ya. Wisconsin is 1 of 2 states where concealed is illegal but we can carry open but I ain't got a handgun.
-
That's exactly why I have concealed carry and keep a gun in the truck at all times.
-
I own 3 -1 is a .380-.32-and a 9mm they are great guns! I'm with you Mike I pitty the fool that tries to enter my home unwwelcomed!!!!

I have one, great little pocket gun. I carry it in my front pocket and forget its even there.

The part that's called Canada ROTFLMBO
We can own handguns, but they are very hard to obtain. You need to take a special course, that is mucho $$$$ Then when you do have one, you are legally only allowed to take it from your property to a official gun range, and you're required by law to let the authorities know when you are doing it. Waaaay too much hassle. On the other hand, there isn't many places up here I wouldn't feel comfortable going to.
Most people still don't lock the door at night...

Sounds nice, but I wouldn't want to live there. I guess I'll just stay here in Derby City, USA Locked and Loaded. * hi * Friends are always welcome!!!!!! Trespassers will be shot on entry * hi *BANG

Ingredior leviter labman , illa es bonus vetus gun portans American's hic
-
That's OK Derby City. There is one thing I've learned. Don't make fun of someones College football team, and don't try and take away their guns :D
I will add this. I've traveled pretty extensively throughout America, and like home, I've never felt unsafe. Maybe I'm dumb, naive, or both, but I can honestly say I have never thought I needed a protection.
-
That's what's great about USA you have a choice to carry or not. I choose to. I'm not bashing your country, or the fact you don't feel the need for a gun, That's Great!!! I think it's a case of "We agree to Disagree" on gun matters, Oh by the way Kel-Tec is a great choice ........If you ever change your mind *cheers*
-
If I'm carrying a gun to defend myself its going to be top of the line. One of the big names. Ruger, S and W, Glock, Beretta, Sig, Colt, and a host of others. Not a second rate one.
-
I have a Glock, Berretta, and S&W in 9mm and .40 but they are to bulky for concealed carry that's why I went with the Kel-Tec. Kahr makes a nice pocket size gun but I didn't want to spend that kind of money
at the time I bought the Kel-Tec.
-
Sorry, but in my mind, 380 doesn't have enough power for my liking. If/when I'm defending myself or my family, I'm carrying something with allot of knockdown power. I have a sawed off 12ga. here at the house....
I will not carry any caliber under a .40. My choice is a .45 Colt, .40 Colt Defender, .44mag S&W, .41mag S&W......
If harms way is headed toward me, I'd want to put them in a bodybag. PERIOD!!!
If I seem a bit harsh, being a paramedic in the big city of Baltimore has made me that way, by being exposed to the criminal's ways of thinking & seeing what they will do to other folks.....They want, what you have and don't care about a bit about you as a person nor your family.
I'll do what I have to do to stop them as quickly as I can........Don't send a boy to do a man's job.....

I agree 100% Zumer. For home defense I have a .45 and wouldn't have anything smaller than a .40. The Kel-Tec 380 is only for concealed carry when a I don't want a big bulky noticeable gun strapped to me.
-
Dont knock a .380 too much, its still a .30 caliber round. I dont carry mine as much as I do my Sig P239, but for something to throw in your front pocket and forget about unless needed, it serves its purpose well. If I am going somewhere that requires me to dress a certain way and its not logical for me to carry my 9mm or .45 on the hip, this thing is perfect. I am the type that says I would rather have a gun ( any gun) and not need it, than to need a gunu and not have it!
-
Carried a 9mm for years. Never had to use it thank God. Have a .45 and a .44 mag. The kel Tec 380 is still a good gun for pocket or womens purse.

Sorry, didn't mean to knock the weapon or the caliper at all.......Just not enough firepower for my liking.
