I try to get a call from each of my friends that make calls.  The problem is that the longer you are on these forums the more friends you make.

I am more into buying a call that I will hunt with. I "collected" for a while but priorities have changed. There are a ton of talented people here. I could not spend the amount some can but try looking for a wood they have not used or something. KP calls and Richard Hudson are a treat to deal and talk with. Have fun!!

Great question! Some start with award winning call makers but as West Augusta said, have many friends that build great calls and I get from them.  Then look for call makers that u think will make a name for them selves and get their early calls. Once you start collecting, it becomes an addiction

I like to get calls from friends especially from those makers who have been recommended to me or who I know have a great reputation. You will get to know many guys from here and have honest evaluations posted about their calls. I enjoy getting to know different makers and then using their calls to hunt, makes the whole process come together for me. They will become a great source of info about other calls to pick up as well. As Silverspur said it will become an addiction. Best advice I can give is to collect what makes you happy to have and not worry about anything else.

When I started I bought as many as I could from most anywhere. It evolved to a personal bucket list of clambers that I have developed friendships with and in general appreciate there work.
