Title: Treasure from Mark Sharpe
Post by: Blackfalcon on November 23, 2014, 10:18:26 AM
Mark made me a beauty, one of his Jordan's with a Hen bone mouth piece. He included a nice note with details about the call. The Hen bone came from a good friend of his, Herb McClure, an old time turkey hunter who hunts the Georgia mountains,(since 1956, coincidentally the year I was born,) and who wrote the book, "Native Turkeys. I am honored you selected this special bone for my call.
Thank you Mark for making this for me, it is not only a beautiful call, it sounds great and plays nicely. I will think of you and Herb when I use this call, and maybe even harvest some fine gobblers with it and the old double.. ;D

I just so happened that Mr. Herb had called me a few days before Dave and I talked. He had a hen bone he had found in a drawer at home. He had sent me 3 others prior to this one. Two of which came from the hen decoy that he uses. He told me to do as I pleased with them. I did, I made him and myself matching calls, they're posted on here. The other one , he wanted the other to send to someone else. So when he sent me that one I figured it only suiting to put that particular bone, since he's been hunting turkeys longer than anyone that I know, in Dave's call. He post all those pictures of that ol' black powder double, along with the powder horn and possibles bag.

Glad you like it Dave. Hope it serves you well!

Mark
