Title: Turpin One Siders
Post by: Jake St. John on September 16, 2014, 07:00:41 AM
Here are three Turpin One Siders that I just finished up for some Osage hunters.  When you pin the paddle to the left of center you get a little different Killer Turpin sound.  I have a lot of young hunters tell me it is their go to call.  It is easy to play.   The top and bottom call are ribbon mahogany over honduran mahogany.  The middle is Mississippi River Persimmon over honduran mahogany.  Mr. E

yup that Persimmon can make one fine sounding call.  My nephew's Turpin that I made a good many years ago is my Prototype.  It is Persimmon over walnut.  Just ask B-Ready what it sounds like.  He wanted to buy it so bad last year in Nashville, I had to call my nephew, Davis back in Mississippi to hear the offer.  Let me say the offer was very substantial, but Davis knows I would kill HIM, if that call got away from family.

All three mailed out today.  PA,  WI and  AL   They are broken in and sounding good.  Took them to a Mississippi Teal Social Wed. night and there was a lot of turkeys up in there amongst those duck hunters.
