Title: Low Country Gobbler
Post by: fargobox on August 24, 2014, 12:11:16 PM
I am very busy at work and traveling a lot so time for callmaking is very tight.  Recently though, I finished this call, Figured Walnut over Cucumber Magnolia (one of my favorites tone woods) for a fine southern gentlman from the Carolina's.  He said he really liked my lone gobbber walking along the old wire fence, but where he hunts they don't have that fencing, it's more of a low wet type of terrain.  Well, this was a challenge for me, since I have never visited such a place, but I came up with something I like and hope he does too.  I had this image in my head of some swamps...a spit of higher land running throuh the swamps.... and of course, an old southern cabin along the swamp.  This is my northern yankee version of some low country land with gobbler and hen down in the Carolina's with Cypress trees and stumps in the swamp.  Hope it brings the hunter good luck and gives him memories of where he hunts.  Oh and BTW, can you see the Great Blue Heron??

Nice job Scott I am sure he will like that one. You should Google cypress knees. They are everywhere around the cypress groves and swamps .
