Well after debating and trying to decide if it was worth the effort I decided back in January and February to publish my first two ebooks on Amazon. After getting all excited because they were ranked as high as #2 in their area of new releases I came to the realization that my idea of what it takes to rank high and Amazon's is somehow very different. Oh well it was cool seeing them ranked up there for a bit.
Both are short stories the first, Memories Shared, Stories from the Real Outdoors, has 12 short stories and the second, 6 Bird Turnaround, tells about the year in turkey hunting that changed things for me in how I hunted turkeys. It also has several short stories in it. Both have a bit of humor and even a bit of dander and loss of a mentor so for me it was a chance to save memeories never written down before I am gone and they go with me.

Tommy, that is great congrats ! I have kept hunting journals since 1983. I have all my hunts recorded and my thought about them and other memories in those journals. It's always great to go back and read them. I did it mainly for me and my family but I have had some of those stories printed in the old, The Turkey Hunter magazine and our state chapter magazine.

Congratulations! I published my first book last summer, so I know how great it feels to see your name on the cover of something you've written. You won't get rich selling books in this "niche" market, but that isn't why we do it and the intangibles that come from the experience are priceless! I don't do Kindle, but if you ever decide to publish them on paper, please send me instructions on how to order signed copies from you.
