My brother came up an hunted with me. We were slipping down this old logging road about noon and I heard a young hen clucking. I took that Musk Ox trumpet an clucked back . She came up the side of the ridge and caught us flat footed. We are standing in the middle of the road. I just stayed with hen call for call. She got to about 6 or 7 feet. I was watching her eyes. I whined and a super low cluck and she leaned aroutme to see where that hen was. My brother started laughing and said Boy you so fat that she had to look around you. Sometimes it think ever Mama didn't like him much either.

LOL...That's a good one!...Good job callin too!

hahahaha... At least it wasn't Mo... she'd had to look really low to the ground to find him *peep* *peep* *lol*
Daryl and I had a hen a few years ago do that to us. We recorded her and she sat down by us. I was tempted to grab her, but was afraid of the heck she would unleash on me! I think she was in love with Darline :)

I just about believe she would have walked between us if he wouldn't have started laughing. She was convinced there was a hen right there and she was going to find it. I've called them in close before many times but she was super close. If you have seen my bother he has NO room to talk. I still haven't forgiven him over the bear but that's another story. Like I said pretty sure Mama didn't like him. ROTFLMBO
