Title: Ivory Reg
Post by: strutnrut on February 18, 2014, 07:30:34 AM
I just got this in an email out of FL Cue Components. Do any of ya'll know anything or heard anything yet????

This is for all our Ivory Buyers and friends out there....

Well, they did it! A new regulation for a ban on commercial trade of elephant ivory!

Whitehouse Press release:
"Today we are also announcing a ban on the commercial trade of elephant ivory"

Here's the news and our opinion:
New Pre Ban Ivory Regulations Spell Disaster

Well, it's been real gang but it sure does look like they mean business. This may put the kibosh on all ivory products except antique ivory. According to this document, you cannot sell anything containing ivory between states. So, if you have an ivory pool cue, knife, gun, etc in Florida it has to remain in Florida, forever! You can sell pre ban ivory within each state and that's it. In-other-words you can buy & sell within your own state as long as it is pre ban (June 1989) Ivory.

We have been delaying all ivory orders due to the anticipated release of this Government Fact Sheet. We will resume ivory sales until all our ivory is liquidated. All pending orders will go into production.

All the landowners, whose property I hunt on, will be given calls with ivory mouthpieces this year.

And I will drill the mouthpieces out of the left overs, and replace them with alternative ivory I have been testing.  Can't tell it from the good stuff.

From what I was told by someone in the ivory business and is on some panel pretaining to this, is that it will pass. If I remember correctly sometime in April....

What if i buy ivory blanks myself and send them to the call maker and he turns the call with my ivory.

He hasnt sold me any ivory. He has provided labor to modify it and that all.

As I read the email I think it is saying the will be No Interstate movement of Ivory. I wonder how I am going to hunt here on Fort Campbell. Part of the post is in TN the other part is in KY or what will happen when one of the oldiers PCS's to a different state?  Again our Government at work, it's like a monkey with a hammer.

Buy the Ivory Legally.

No one said you had to contact the Law before mailing.
