Before I really started collecting calls, these four logged a lot of miles in my vest. The box is an all-walnut from Albert Paul, an oak glass pot from Russell Lynch, a wormy butternut slate from Larry Bean, and a cedar over wormy butternut paddle from Marlin Watkins. These calls accounted for the demise of several gobblers.

the first is a 2 sided glass/slate call from david mills, it goes with me on all hunts.

unfortunately i don't have a picture of my 3 inch copper call from daryl, but it too has a permanent place in my vest.  in lieu of my call, here are a couple that i got for some buddies of mine from daryl.  one is crystal and one is copper-

and then i always carry a few mouth calls from steve kinder.

i've got a few more additions that will be put to use this spring, like a copper call from mose and a trumpet from sentell.  i hope to add a call from kp before spring as well.

there are several others that will be in the rotation as well, but the one's above are the core of the calls that i take with me.

THis is one call that always goes in a pocket whenever I go to the turkey woods. Andy Kaiser made it for me out of wormy chestnut that I had given him.  I wish I had a better pic.

My Roanoke Trumpet has given me good results over the years.  It never won any awards but when I use it the turkeys like it enough to show up.

awards or not, that thing is sweet.  like porter said, the demise of turkey's speaks volumes about the call.

Ralph,

I guess I am still trying to figure out why that one did not win an award? Awesome looking call but as you know, the proof if a turkey call is a turkey call is in the field.

Here are 3 of the calls that will always be with me.  It's my all walnut clincher and my walnut/poplar shorty boxes from SS and a very special pot from Daryl.  I carry way too many calls and will have different ones from everyone, but these 3 are always there!  This year a cypress trumpet from Tim Clayton will be included as an always with me too :)

And I know you are all shocked that there's no Osage there, but those calls (especially that SS Shorty) are deadly on birds!

And I know you are all shocked that there's no Osage there,

mike, the osage socks make up for you not incorporating an osage call.

So everyone knows, those were compliments of the Shoemakers :)  I think the wife got the blame for them being in my "package"...  One day a darn turkey was wearing them, then the next day... well I was  *up*

This is what Adam will hunt this spring with A box (several different boxes) and a Tim Clayton Trumpet. It's 3 inch Osage Copper over Glass he made with wood from Richard Meagher with a Ghost Maker Calls Striker and a Ozark Custom Calls Striker. (not pictured) Not bragging just fact, best sounding pot call I have heard along with the Mahogany glass sent to Richard at Ozark! Osage is a perfect wood for Pots and Strikers!!!
