Title: For a Proud Kentucky Dad!
Post by: fargobox on January 06, 2014, 06:49:05 PM: Here is a Persimmon (man I love this wood for lids!!) over Black Cherry built as a gift for a father to his son who took his 1st gobbler last season. I asked Dad if he was present on the hunt, "yes" he said, but his proudest moment came when the son then hunted the next day alone, but saw nor heard anything, not discouraged he hunted the day after that and took his 2nd longbeard by himself. I do believe we have to makings of a new turkey thug in Kentucky--way to show him the way dad!!

My pattern box for my Turpins is a Walnut with a persimmon lid that is actually my nephews call. Made it a good number of years ago and it has a few notches on it. Has the nastiest two old hens you ever heard. I'll have it in Nashville and bring you some old southern boys swamp persimmon for your calls.
