Here is the first of two trough calls headed to Chatanooga that I just completed . This one is made from some of my chocolate tiger maple and has a padauk striker . The playing surface is slate and this one has all the sound I could want in a trough caller . She has a wide range of tone from high pitch to downright nasty hen yelps . The clucks and purrs have more realism than you get in most friction calls and the yelps break over nicely . I couldn't be any happier with the way this one came out and I hope she gets to sweet talk some of those Tennessee birds before long . Thanks for looking !

Well, there's no telling what Ole Shadetree will come up with next, but there is tellin that these trough calls are really something for sore eyes and ears. Jeff is mighty lucky and no doubt the 2nd call will look just as sweet *up* *up*

I played this call today and sounded great . BOB the only bad this thing about it was there was no twin with it.. *up* *up*

Really nice Bob. You call it Chocolate Tiger Maple. Is that a process that you put on the Tiger Maple or Does the wood you are working with come dark tint already?
