I heard turkeys gobbling in the fall. I know many of you have experienced this a lot, but where I live and hunt in upstate NY I have yet to hear gobbling in the fall. I have bow-hunted whitetails on this pareticular piece of land for the past 10 years and always sewe turkeys in the fall woods, but never have I heard them gobbler. Well yesterday am while sitting in my tree stand at 7:15 one of the ole boys started pounding and I mean he was pretty fired up. He hit 11 times on the limb and then 8 more after he pitched down. I knew right where they were roosted, about 200 yards away. Lucky for me I just so happened to bring 2 wingbone calls, one from Bob Fulcher (gobbler bones) and one from LT Pack (hen bones). So I figured, nothing ventured nothing gained and started off with a few soft clucks and yelps and I was immediately replied with 2 great responses. As Snakeboots says...it was on... *bannana* *peep*
Didn't take the hens to circle the wagons and head my way, bringing at least 1 gobbler I knew of, however, I have 3 longbeards on trail cams, so.... when they arrived after a bit more coaxing with the hen wingbone from LT all 3 of the gobblers were present and accounted for *bannana* *bannana*
Despite being 25 feet in the tree, it was very hard to move, way too many eyes for me, but after waiting 20 minutes I managed to get a longish shot off (24yds), but missed one of the big hens. It was a blast and I can't wait till next weekend to try and do it all over again.

Bob, I gave her a good clean shave and case you don't remember, there is a BIG difference, in slinging an arrow at 24 yards and booming the 12 ga, with a bird at 50 yards and shells that go 46 yds *lol* *lol*
