Well today was Maryland's duck opener and as we're standing there in the cat tails along the portion of the pond that borders the woods an ole long beard sounded off. He must have gobbled 20 times and it seemed like every time a low flying goose started hollarin' it would get him going. Man did he have me wishing for spring!

Its never too early for that. Our season opens in a few days and the birds are tearing it up every morning. Hearing lots of mature gobblers, jakes and hens. They are extremely vocal this time of the year.

I was out from an hour before daylight til noon. I thought that maybe I heard a yelp or two. Not sure. Didn''t even see any deer.
