Here's a bear that I shot in NY in 2003. I shot him with a Darton compound with Beman arrow and Blood Trailer broadheads. The shot was 18 yards and the bear droped in under 50 yards. He was 350lbs. and scored just over the Pope & Young min. He was aged at 5 1/2 years old.

I'm scared of many things.. spiders, snakes, and I could only imagine coming face to face to a stinking bear... I hope that's one thing not introduced to our wonderful hillbilly state!!!

I'm jealous! Nice bear for sure!

Nice! Back in 1991 was in N Georgia on a mountain top on a trail about 2 ft. wide on the side of the mountain with a fog so thick you couldn't see 2 ft. in front of you when I met a Black Bear (which was what I was hunting) on the trail coming in my direction. I could hear him breathing, smell him and even hear him sniffing but couldn't see him. I was paralyzed. It was straight up on my right on straight down about 300 feet on my left. I put my rifle up clicked the safety to protect myself in case he decided that was his trail not mine and he retreated when the safety clicked on the ole Ruger M77. Boy was I glad. Didn't see anything else that day.
