When the planes came down killing thousands of Americans and marking the first time foreigners have attacked mainland USA ?
I was flying across the Atlantic coast on my way home from a soul-seeking trip to Europe. We were in the air headed to Detroit when the first plane crashed. They immediately and secretly, re-routed us to Canadian airspace landing us in Toronto as the second plane hit the towers. It was at this moment that the captain explained what was happening. We were stuck in the plane for 8 hours on the ground, feeling helpless the whole time. All the reports were telling us we would not be allowed back in the country for two weeks. Fortunately it took only a couple days . I will never forget seeing my dear Mom's face standing in the airport north of Detroit, Mi where she drove just to make sure her boy was safe.
May God bless all the souls that came to him on 9/11 .

I was in the daily morning production meeting at work when one of the ladies that worked in the office came in and said that a plane had hit the first tower.
After the meeting, we huddled around the few computers that had speakers and listened to the live news feeds for the rest of the day.

At that time in my life, I was building houses for a living. We were on the job site which was right next to the owner's son's house. The daughter in law came running over to bring the news. We stopped what we were doing to go watch it on T.V. We stood there dumbfounded as we watched. Feeling ever so helpless, unable to believe what was unfolding on that horrible day. Much like the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

I was just leaving a job meeting at one of our office/warehouse projects we had under construction at the time. We thought it was a prank at first and in minutes my son called from another project and verified it. We closed our projects down and went home to see what would transpire.
One broadcast I wont forget was ( Do not call 911 or the police you are on your own.) Something the anti gunners wont talk about! It was nice to have a bunch of Winchesters to hang out with.

I take care of the 101st ABN DIV war stock for HAZMAT. We got really busy. The next couple of weeks were a LONGGGGGGGGGG blur. Kind of been that way for 12 years now. Lost some good friends and supported some of the Finest Young Men on the planet.

I was at home getting ready for work...The phone rang and a fellow Officer told me to cut on the TV I sat there in shock and dis belief...May God bless all the men and women that protect our great Nation and the Victims families ...NEVER FORGET... USA

I was sitting in a judge's chair in his office in the courthouse. I had been installing Cat 5 cables that morning. The judge had a TV in his office with cable so we watched from there.

Just sat down to lunch with a CO worker at the Island West golf club. We thought it was a joke when it first came on. Our company closed our office for the rest of the day. We sat there for three hours watching.

My wife and I were on the way to bury my best friends Dad. It was a very sad day all around.

I was at a conference and went to pay for bfast that morning. The first plane had just hit and although I remember the transcript, I do not remember what channel they had on. I remember them talking about it had to be a pilot had a heart attack and that it must have been a small plane. Then you heard the roar of the second plane and they knew we were under attack.
That conference was nothing but shock and disbelief.

I was in Biology class my sophomore year of high school when another came running in to the room and said a plane just crashed into the World Trade Center. Initially, I don't think we really understood what it meant, as the class, teacher included, just kind of went on with class, although there were just a few minutes left in class. I remember going to my German class next and watching everything and seeing the second plane hit and the reports start coming out that it was terrorist attack, that's when it finally hit home and everyone was just in shock. Truly a day I'll never forget, I can still see that teacher come running into the bio room and breaking the news to everything. Yesterday I tried to watch as many of memorials and documentaries as I could. The bravery showed by the first responders was, is, and always will be remarkable USA
