Title: Mahogany ?

A friend gave me several pieces of mahogany that were used as part of a pallet from overseas. He says it is "Japanese" mahogany which I can't find anything about. It is mahogany and I guess it doesn't really matter where it came from I'm just wondering about it. Any ideas?

Years ago I made a box call out of it . Was a Toyota  pallet a motor came on it and the call sounded good I still have piece around some day il use it .
