Got home last night after "ONE" of those days at work .....
My daughter brought in the mail and there was one of those boxes in the mailbox that ya knew there was a turkey call in---things were looking up at that point ;D.
Looked at the box, and none other than Don and Sarah Clarks name was on the return address *bannana*.
I tore into the box as I thought I knew what was inside. There she was *up*.
I have a shortbox and one sider from the Clarks from this same wood. In Nashville, they had one entered I really wanted, but someone I know mentioned they were going to buy it if Don didn't. So I refrained from bidding on it. I went and talked to Don about him completing my set in this wood for me. He agreed to it.... *bowing*.
Well here she is and PROUD is a UNDERSTATEMENT describing what this box means to me.
Anyone that knows Don and Sarah, words cannot describe them. They are as good a folk as ya can ask for. They are masters of their trade in any box wheither hunting or decorative.
This longbox is made from mud cured very old growth cedar from a railroad bridge piling off the Cotton Belt railroad near Camden Arkansas. . The tightness of the grain in this cedar is beyond any I have ever seen. The coloration in the mud cured is unique for this wood. The call has a matching lid from the same material. Then, ya have Sarah's finishing touches with her artistic woodburning-its a MASTERPIECE. Man, can Mrs. Sarah burn anything with precision she sets her mind to. She has unbelievable talent---wish I could learn from her for sure. This call has plenty of turkey bird in her for sure. Great tone and spits feathers from front to rear. Its a special call !!!
When ya think of the special friends I have met in this lifestyle, Don and Sarah are at the top of the list in my book. I am proud to consider them friends.

All I can say is WOW, the Clarks sure did make that one a great looking call. Congrats Jeff that is a dandy for sure and your right, the Clarks are truely the nicest people you want to meet.
