Looking to gain some info on Columbus Ohio, or more specifically, Port Columbus. I have a tempting job offering there but never been. Thanks--Jason

Jason, port columbus is up north . Columbus , is our capital city and it lies near the center of Ohio. The port cities are at the northern edge of Ohio along Lake Erie. Gets cold up there in winter but in the summer ,the lakeshore areas are very nice.

Thought that Port Columbus was the airport in Columbus.

The job is at the Port Columbus Inter. Airport. It is with HLS and the opportunity is a good one. I just wonder what the area there is like...city, urban, how close or far is the country life from there, etc.... Being a farm boy who grew up in beautiful farm and coal country I am concerned about relocating there. Is it a nice area or one I will hate being in? You know the thoughts that go through ones mind. Just seeking info. to aide in my decision is all. Thanks--jason

Columbus is a big city that is growing very fast. There is a geat deal to do there and a few turkeys around in the burbs.

Columbus is a big city with all the urban problems, drugs, gangs, homicides. We have a big deer and turkey expo in Columbus at the state fairgrounds and that is alot of fun but it is right in the middle of the ''hood ''. But there is some great hunting within an hour plus of the city. You can get away to the woods as close as 60 minutes. There are some decent suburbs within a short drive from the airpot also. Plus you would only be 45 minutes from the shadetree and I can point you in the right direction for outdoor action.

Thanks a lot guys. Appreciate it.--Jason

Jason,
It is a big city, but there will be a lot of opportunities there.
There will be jobs there,
Ohio State Football, The Blue Jackets hockey.
Restaurants etc.

If seriously looking to relocate I would think a two or three day trip to the area would be in order to see for myself what it was like. *cheers*

GSLAM,
I agree and under normal circumstances would do just that. However, my current situation does not permit the ability to do so and time constraints are short. Just bad timing for me overall.---Jason

Jason I hope it all works out for you bud. I just hate to see you move somewhere and possibly regret it. Best of luck to you no matter what choice you make.
