Hello. I am new to the forum and wanted my first post to be a good one. I recognize many of the usernames from other boards I frequently visit. The Osage Roost was recommended to me by my friend M Sharpe and I have a feeling I will truly enjoy the board.
My first post is to show a piece of American Folk Art that I have recently received. I recently received one of my friend M Sharpe's custom wingbone yelpers. It is a fine piece for sure! The call is made from hen bones and a gobbler bone, the mouthpiece and middle section is made of the hen bones and the gobbler bone is the bell of the call. It is a one of a kind of Mr. Sharpe's calls and I can almost promise no one else has one exactly like mine. :D He stained the call for me and wrapped it in a nice dark green where it will not stick out while hunting. Right now this call is a main piece on my mantle but I know Mr. Sharpe expects it to be in the woods next season chasing those beautiful longbeards and I can assure you it will be around my neck this coming season.
It makes a mature hen sound with rasp that the two notes of the yelp break perfectly and the clucks are nice a sharp just the way I like them. It is versatile by making then hen notes but it can also produce wonderful gobble notes as well. Thanks again Mr. Sharpe and Thanks to Osage Roost for having me here!
