My dad called me last nite and said he was getting flooded out , I couldn't get there quick enough. His road going into his house was flooded with swift waist deep water, so i had to backtrack and go the back way in and by the time i got there it had pretty much got everything. I did manage to get his car out of the garage and out to the road but it already had water over the seats. Water heater, new gas furnance I just installed ,well pump and I found his riding mower about 150 yards below the house upside down in mud. I think it was worse than the 72 flood. I looked at his rain gauge and it said we got seven inches of rain inthe first hour of the storm, The stream out back of the house is something you can jump accross, last nite it was as high as i ever seen it , I counted 35 of the big round hay bales wrapped in plastic go down the creek they looked like huge marshmellows going down the creek , I couldn't beleave those things floated. they took a foot bridge and another bridge out along the way. It took all nite to pump all the water out of is house. Still no electric service. We rescued six pigs and a baby calf out of a barn up the road from my dads when we got there they were swimming in there stalls in the barn the water just came up to fast. It was a scary nite to say the least. Some people drowned trying to save a shed from high water, they backed a four wheeler back in to the water and hooked a chain to the shed and tryed to pull it out the water the rising water took the shed and the four wheeler down stream they still havn't found him. we are supposed to get more storms this evening I'm crossing my fingers and hopeing for the best , I don't think it can get any worse.

Denny texted me some pix from up where he is. It is bad. Then they had hail this evening.

Bill sorry to hear about your Dads home at least he's OK and safe. Central NY and the Mohawk Valley got hit hard as well with at least 5" of rain which flooded the valley really bad. All this came 7 years to the day when in 2006 the flooding rains totaled 11". We don't need any more for a while thats for sure.

I feel your pain brother as I had family lose everything in the flood of 93 here in the midwest from the Mississippi river. Stay safe and don't risk you or your families life over material objects at the last minute of rising waters as it is all replaceable in time. I know words do not make dealing with it any easier but prayers are sent to you and your family.
